On Wednesday 1 November, a reception to celebrate the 175th Anniversary of the Formation of the Council of the City of Sydney and the official launch of the exhibition, Our City: 175 Years in 175 Objects, was held at Sydney Town Hall.
CLAIR Sydney gladly attended this reception and thanked Lord Mayor Clover Moore for the invitation and congratulated her and the city on this milestone. It was a great opportunity for CLAIR Sydney to deepen ties with many people associated with the City of Sydney.
The Exhibition was hosted by the Friends of Sydney Town Hall, a group of dedicated volunteers who give guided tours of the building and share its rich history with tour participants. The exhibition showcased 175 historical objects to celebrate 175 years of the City of Sydney.
The exhibit was divided into a number of different themes like mayors, social welfare, jobs, housing, parks, and vision to give us a better understanding of the past, present and future of Sydney. Many people visited this exhibition which ran until Sunday 12 November.
