CLAIR Sydney staff members attended the 2017 Local Government New Zealand (LGNZ) Conference held in Auckland City, New Zealand from 23 to 25 July.
This year’s theme was ‘creating pathways to 2050: liveable spaces and loveable places’, and the conference was attended by over 600 participants including mayors and other government officers from all over New Zealand. CLAIR Sydney staff participated in various keynote sessions and interactive workshops to learn more about current challenges and best practices in New Zealand local governments.
We provided information on CLAIR’s activities, including our annual local government exchange and cooperation seminar, Japanese culture and sightseeing destinations. We also exchanged ideas and information with a lot of mayors, councillors and local government officers. Moreover, under the request of the President of Sister Cities New Zealand (SCNZ), Ms Hiromi Morris, we promoted their activities by helping to hand out SCNZ and 2019 Japan Rugby World Cup brochures.
