A group of four Rotarians from Gosford’s sister city Edogawa-ku in Tokyo visited Gosford as part of a brief trip to Australia. The group had earlier attended the Rotary International Convention held in Sydney from 1-4 June.
The group met with Gosford Mayor Clr Lawrie McKinna and CEO Paul Anderson, and took in a tour of the Central Coast Stadium followed by lunch at Ken Duncan Gallery. They also visited the Gosford-Edogawa Commemorative garden and met with the Gosford Sister City Association.
In the evening they had dinner with members of Society of Asian Pacific (SOAP) Central Coast and local Rotarians, Edgar Adams, Michael Sharpe and Mark Ellis at the Ettalong Beach Club.
Chairman of SOAP Central Coast, Tony Sansom OAM, remarked that it was an enjoyable and interesting dinner meeting. “We had the combination of Rotary members from two different countries sharing Rotary and business stories, as well as local SOAP members sharing their stories of visiting Edogawa and building on the sister city relationship,” Mr Sansom said.
