On 4 March CLAIR Chairperson Mr Okamoto met with committee members of the Vic/Tas/SA chapter of JETAA and on the following day he met with their counterparts at the NSW chapter of JETAA.
During the meetings attendees discussed the JET programme, especially on how to teach English with Japanese English teachers, make the pre-departure training more effective and use the programme effectively for the Rugby World Cup in 2019 and the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020.
The JET programme has a lot of participants from all over the world. After graduating the programme, many of them act as bridges between Japan and their countries.
The programme will celebrate its 30th anniversary next year. We felt that the JETAA’s activities will be more active and the programme will better thanks to these productive meetings.
