Support Activities for Tokyo Metropolitan Government: Sushi Tech Tokyo 2024 promotion(11-13 Oct)

From 11 to 13 October, the 2023 Asia Pacific Cities Summit (APCS), an international conference where city representatives and business people mainly from the Asia Pacific region gathered, was held at the Brisbane Exhibition Center. This year’s conference was themed on “Shaping Cities for our Future,” and participants from various countries set up booths in the exhibition hall to promote their products, services and policies.

In response to a request from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG), a CLAIR Sydney office staff attended the APCS together with TMG members to support their promotion for the SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024, a large-scale event that will be held by the TMG in 2024.

More than 250 people visited the TMG’s booth, including city leaders, councillors, executives, and business people. In particular, the “SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024” logo with a sushi motif attracted the attention of visitors.

CLAIR Sydney will continue to support each local government’s promotion in Australia.

  • To investigate environmental countermeasures, a student and her chaperone from Hikone Technological High School of Shiga Prefecture visited Australia from late July to early August. CLAIR Sydney conducted a briefing on 29 July about Australia’s culture and customs, and accompanied the group to a company visit in Brisbane on 31 July, where the company, known for producing products using a type of seaweed called Asparagopsis, shared insights into their research and production processes.

During the visit, they received information on efforts to reduce methane emissions from livestock using Asparagopsis, viewed from a carbon-neutral perspective. The student’s proactive participation in the meetings, driven by a desire to engage in environmental initiatives in the future, was impressive.

In addition to the briefing and accompaniment, we also reached out to the company to request a representative to discuss their Asparagopsis research. CLAIR Sydney will continue to support the activities of Japanese local governments conducting research on topics related to Australia.
