On 2nd July, the pre-departure orientation for new JET participants were held by the Consulate-General of Japan in Sydney. CLAIR Sydney participated in the orientation and made a presentation about the training and support systems offered by CLAIR to JETs.
JET Alumni Association (JETAA) members provided the new JETs with useful information and advice from the viewpoint of former JETs. We hope that this orientation was helpful for new JETs to relieve anxiety that they may be experiencing, connect with other JETs and learn more about their new roles. A lot of people from Australia will be starting their new life as JETs in Japan from July 24th. We wish them the best of luck!On 19th of July, a Farewell Reception for the 2016 JET Programme participants was held by the Consul-General at his residence. The Consul-General of Japan, Mr Takaoka, gave a speech and a speech was also made by a new JET participant.
Mr Takaoka also presented a certificate of commendation to JETAA NSW for their activities relating to the JET Programme.
