From 29 July to 5 August, ten junior high school students and two school principals from Ube in Yamaguchi prefecture visited Newcastle (which is Ube’s sister city) to deepen their cross-cultural understanding and international relationships through homestay, attendance at a local school, and English lessons.
Similar to last year, they dropped by our office before going to Newcastle. We talked to them about the Australian way of life and about CLAIR’s activities. Also, we exchanged opinions about good and bad aspects of life outside of Japan – to which they paid great attention to! We hope that one day they will participate in cross-border activities like we do.
